Transnational
The company has expanded its remit and now includes the development of transnational programme activities, working with EU partners, for which the funding is managed at the UK level and within the EC in Brussels. Funding for these initiatives, which include the Lifelong Learning Programme, Inter-Reg IV, et al, has been substantially increased for the 2007-13 Programme period and is likely to continue to increase, over time, and will remain as the Programmes of Structural Funds are withdrawn. Traditionally, Scotland has underperformed in such initiatives and there is significant opportunity for the company to support its partners in securing additional resources for projects which meet the requirements of these Programmes.
